Medical malpractice is professional carelessness or negligence by omission or act by a health care professional wherein the treatment given falls below the approved standard of practice in the medical community and leads to injury or even death to the victim/patient, in many cases connected with medical error.
We could as well state that Medical malpractice takes place whenever a health-care provider deviates from the known “standard of care” in the management of and treatment of a patient. The “standard of care” is referred to as what a sensibly prudent medical provider would or wouldn’t have done under similar or same circumstances. It depends on whether or not the health provider was negligent.
